* Recognizable within a life journey are the spiritual component and the material component.
Spiritualy: is a state of being or a description of an inner condition of openness to non-material life. In this way, spirituality differs from religion, which is an organised outward expression of belief that may or may not lead to spirituality.
Materiality: constitutes the considerations and decisions we must make for physical survival. Materiality is different from materialism, which is an attitude that makes material considerations a high priority in our thoughts and actions.
It is not "counter-spiritual" to be concerned with spiritual needs. It is not "counter-material" to be concerned with spiritual needs. As we proceed on our life's journey, many of our problems can be traced to a static state in which these counter-balancing forces work at cross purposes without resolution. In other words, we are stuck in one area or another with regard to a specific issue in our lives. A life journey can take two general forms, random or intentional. In the random form, growth occurs without attention to any specific aspect of the life journey. Growth is happening even when from the outside it would appear that all aspects of our lives are static. Intentional forms of a life journey mean we have placed our attention or focused our energy in a particular way, usually after a distinct search phase. The focus will shift as our awareness shifts and growth occurs.
In our world, we are perhaps more familiar with examples of intentional materiality. Intentional materially describes any situation in which someone decides to do something differently from what they have learned from their parents or initial cultural/ educational experiences. Decisions to become "vegetarian" or recycle paper are examples of intentional materially.
Intentional Spirituality also has a search phase. This phase often comes as a result of a vague feeling, that there is certain something that we aren't getting out of life, and we start to search for the answers. Initially, some of our answers may include coming to decisions of intentional materiality, because being involved in that activity, living in a certain way or gaining inspiration from a specific person strikes a chord within us. But then we find that "being vegetarian" or living a certain way doesn't continue to stimulate that inner resonance and so we let go of that person, belief system or activity and continue to search.
This searching and letting go process is very important. Any truly effective growth system, teacher, philosophy or methodology that we encounter will eventually become obsolete for us because we will grow beyond its capacity to stimulate deeper and more meaningful levels of ourselves. As the spiritual search becomes intentional, a common theme will begin to emerge. From many sources we will hear that the "answers" we seek are within ourselves. As we grow to believe and rely on that truth, we eventually find ourselves shifting the way we engage in the spiritual search. Rather than counting on any artificial discipline aimed at achieving something by structuring our energy outside of our inner selves, we gain faith that our inner wisdom brings us into alignment with our truest and highest nature.
Intensional spirituality, then is the gradual replacement of "will" with intuition. Or in other words, intentional spirituality is the development of a focus for your energy that relies on the other level of consciousness, described as "best and highest interest", for information regarding your life path.
Self-development and spiritual healing are other names for intentional spirituality. They all refer to the process of releasing those patterns that create disharmony on our life's journey. This disharmony can be either in the material or spiritual aspects of our lives. This means that the "healer" in spiritual healing is the recipient, who is learning to listen more clearly to his or her intuitive self.
As we proceed on our life's journey, many of our problems can be traced to a static state in which these counter-balancing forces work at cross purposes without resolution. In other words, we are stuck in one area or another with regard to a specific issue in our lives.
There are many points in a spiritual journey where we are allowed to temporarily circumvent various needed lessons or experiences in order to keep from being pulled off of our path. This has the effect of throwing our "timing" off (displacing time). The energy of synchronization assists us in re-establishing the essentail timing of our life flow. Due to the intense magnetism with which as it relates to love, is one of the most diffecult for humanss to grasp. Detachment is a basic property through which a spiritual journey becomes an expression of true universal growth.
* As a person grows and evolves on the course of a life path or spiritual journey, these pockets become re-intergrated with the personal energy matrix. The pockets are not all individually isolated and may have intimate interconnections so that in order to re-intergrate a particular pocket's energies may require the re-intergration of several pockets as well. Some of these pockets are extremely difficult to locate and intergrate because their orginal fragmentation was not based on anything we can relate to conceptually. The causes may be pre-verbal or pre-physical in nature, which means that the only iontergrating force is through pure consciousness disassociated from aney conceptual (verbal/intellectual) considerations.
Pain: - Is the mechanism through which the physical body informs us that there is a need for attention and care. Without this information, we could cause disastrous and permanent damage, before realising something was wrong. There are situations within any growth path (spiritual journey) which are painful. This pain is not a bad thing, it is a mechanism which helps to clarify the passage of the old and the emergance of the new. Even through pain can be considered as strickly informational, it does not remove the pain. Pain, in this context, is a very good and necessary thing and should not be fought. The attempt to run from, hide from or remove such pain is one indication of a lack of readiness to move on to higher plateaus of spiritual awareness. Given this, it is still possible to strngthen and support the positive side of pain without moving to avoid, hide, etc.
Pain on any level is essentially communication, a way for the soul or spirit to tell us when we are needing adjustments in our life. This is very similar to the way our body uses pain to tell us that we need adjustments in our physical activity. If it weren't for pain, we could very easily cause damage to our bodies without realising it. In the same way, if it weren't for the pain of the problems and illnesses with which the spirit communicates to us, we would continue with patterns in our life that cause increasing difficulty.
Most of us react to pain with aversion, as though pain is something bad, to be avoided or stopped at all costs. Yet pain is primarily information which tells us when something is wrong. If you fall and hurt your ankle, the pain associated with this injury may be severe, but without the pain, you might not be aware that anything is wrong until you have caused a much greater injury. Without this information, we could cause disastrous and permanent damage, before realizing something was wrong.
Non-physical pain is based on the very same principle. It might be painful to have someone tell you that they don't like a certain aspect of your character or personality, particularly if you are close to that person. However, without this pain, you would not know that there is something in the relationship that re-quires attention. Without the pain, you could eventually be confronted with a much greater problem, such as the loss of a relationship that you value.
Under most circumstances a problem or illness (physical or emotional pain or the threat of it) is considered to be bad, something that should be overcome or avoided. It may very well be that having a problem (pain) or illness is in a person's overall best interests.
The spiritual pain does not go away unless we find what we need inside ourselves and take steps to align ourselves with more positive spiritual path. If we continue to ignore this spiritual pain, it will eventually become some form of psychological pain. If we ignore the psychological pain for long enough, it will eventually affect our bodies or our material life and become some form of illness, disease or problem.
Therefore, spiritual healing does not have as a goal, the elimination of pain on any level but the bringing to light, that which we need to know to be able to come into a closer alignment with our spiritual nature. This understanding and alignment does not have to be conscious. Actually, most spiritual growth and spiritual alignment happens on a level that we never become aware of. Most of the time we see and feel only the indirect results of spiritual growth, because most spiritual needs have only indirect or symbolic counterparts in the material world. The key difference between spiritual non-growth and spiritual growth is a willingness to accept change based on inner urgings from our spiritual nature. If we don't accept our spiritual nature as a major partner in our lives, we are risking the creation of a condition in which we, in our most limited sense, are at odds with that which is our most unlimited self.
Spiritual Comfort Energy: Enhances
the awareness of the reason for the pain and the consciousness
of the ultimate good that the pain represents. Because the material world is filled with
all different levels of energy all at the same time, and because
the physical, emotional and intellectual bodies act together as
a buffer which allows rapid changes in states of consciousness,
we can advance in spiritual consciousness. Extremely rapidly
as compared to the slow and gradual growth that is possible in
a strictly spiritual form. What we can accomplish in terms
of personal evolution in a single lifetime could far longer in
non-physical form.
